Description
UIS beautiful colonnade was completed in the summer of 2005. It quickly has become the major landmark of the university. the structure which includes a fountain and seating, is the symbolic center of the campus and anchors the north side of the newly developed quadrangle.
The colonnades’ base reflects the architectural theme of campus buildings. The pillars are 23 feet high and form a circle 44 feet in diameter. Hanson Professional Services designed the colonnade as a new, central gathering and serves as the focal point to outdoor events on the quad.
