Support St. Joseph's Home

As a not-for-profit nursing home, we rely on the generosity of families, friends and community members to continue to provide the highest level of care for our residents.

We greatly appreciate your support as we continue our mission of offering compassionate care in the spirit of St. Francis of Assisi.

Make a Donation

Individuals, businesses and organizations can make a tax-deductible donation by using our secure, encrypted online application below, or mailing a check to the address listed on our contact page.  Donations received are currently being directed to the following needs, and you may indicate where you would like your contribution to be directed.  Once your selection is made, payment information will appear.

Sr. Judith Morris Activity Center

Donations will be used to build an expertly designed Activity Center in memory of Sister Judith Morris, OSF.

Continuing Care Fund

Donations support residents of St. Joseph's Home who can no longer afford the full cost of their care.

 General Fund

Donations made to the general fund are used at the discretion of the Administrator and/or St. Joseph's Home Board for necessary projects throughout St. Joseph's Home.

Is your donation in Honor or Memory of someone? Please notify the Development Office at funddev@saintjosephshome.org or 217-529-5596 ext. 123 so your memorial or honorarium gift can be acknowledged appropriately.

Volunteer Your Time

Our volunteers enrich the lives of our residents in so many ways. The experience will be equally rewarding for you when you see the smiles and feel the gratitude of the people you are serving.

Dining room

Assist a resident by carrying his or her meal tray from the buffet to the dining table at breakfast, noon, or suppertime. Pour water, coffee and milk. Clear tables or sweep floor.

Activities

Assist with bingo, arts and crafts, or outings.

Drive/Ride-along

Drive a resident to the doctor or dentist, or ride along in the medi-car with them. Family members who live far away and can't personally drive or accompany their loved one to the doctor depend on volunteers like YOU for this.

Gift shop

Serve as cashier for an hour or two a week.

Sewing or Crafts

Sew name labels in residents' clothing. Help with craft projects. If you do craft projects at home, you can contribute your handiwork for gifts or fundraising projects.

Visit, Read, Walk

Visit with or read to residents. Take a resident for a walk in the garden.

Serve

Help at birthday parties, picnics, resident activities, and fundraising events.

Gardening

Mow, rake, plant, or weed the yard. Help put up or take down birdhouses and holiday decorations seasonally.

My mom was only here for three days, and in those three days you all enveloped her in the greatest love I have ever witnessed.
